  • SMART Card V3

Posted on September 27th, 2021 Phil

I’ve updated the SMART Card again (the global chip shortage forced my hand TBH). The “V3” now supports Spectrum 128 games and also has some software improvements such as a machine code monitor as part of the NMI button options.  It does now require a working M1 signal from the Z80 (Spectrums are notorious for this not working) but it’ll warn the user if this signal is bad (replacing the CPU fixes it).

As the hardware has changed (and the software to suit) unfortunately the new ROMs are not compatible with the V1 and V2 SMART cards.

As ever, you’ll find the SMART Card for sale at the store (as and when I have time to make them).

  • DiagROM v1.50

Posted on May 4th, 2020 Phil

I’ve updated my Spectrum Diagnostic ROM a little. New stuff:

    • Added contention test to the Spectrum 128 menu
    • Added more ROM signatures for the Spectrum 128 test
    • Aesthetic improvements – better use of colour etc
    • Various odds and ends under the bonnet.

The latest version is available (for free, naturally) here.

  • DiagROM v1.47

Updated the Spectrum DiagROM code some more.. Minor improvements and a fix for a bug that crept into the code recently (was returning false multiplexor errors – note to self: don’t rely completely on emulators for testing..)

  • DiagROM V1.40

I’ve updated my Spectrum Diagnostic ROM slightly: Various improvements both in aesthetics and function, optimizations and some ULA/Z80 analysis.
